We've had a busy week and the children are settling really well into the new routines of Class 2.
In Maths we have been counting and practising number formation. In English we listened to the story of 'Knuffle Bunny' about a girl called Trixie who loses her special toy. The children have enjoyed using the ipads to take photographs of their special toys and areas around the school. Fabian took one of our P.E. lessons this week and the children were really good at listening to him and following his instructions. They ran lots and were pretty tired by the end of the session.
Home Learning - the children have a task in their book called 'special places' - this is an open ended activity for the children to be as creative as they wish! To consolidate their maths learning please practise counting and writing numbers correctly with your child. On Active Learn the children have been allocated books to read and an Abacus maths activity. Please let me know if you are having difficulty accessing these.
Next week we will be working on Number Bonds in Maths and Capital letters in English. We will be reading some more stories about special toys that get lost in preparation for writing our own stories.
Here are a selection of pictures from this week ...

It's great that you have all been so busy and working so hard. Edward is coming home from school bursting with things to tell us about his day. Loves Class 2! Massive thank you to the staff for helping them to settle in so well.
ReplyDeleteNow, when you see Edward on Monday morning there will be something different about him - see if you can work out what it is!!
I am so pleased he is enjoying Class 2. I wonder what will be different...

DeleteHello - what is the school code for the Abacus site for their homework?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Hi, the school code is fasc
DeleteThanks Mr W - it still doesn't like it but it could be that her name and password are wrong. I'll speak to Mrs M on Monday afternoon. Thanks anyway

ReplyDeleteErm? Team Squire have given this some thought and we have short listed our ideas on Edwards change. Is it, he now has a purple Mohican hairstyle or has he grown a beard or is he going to attend school with a bowler hat and brief case?
ReplyDeleteDear Team Squire, Edward says 'no, that is not right. Try again!'
ReplyDeleteFive points if you guess it before you see him... Three points if you get it when you see him in the morning :-)
Oooooo we like this game! Ok, here goes. Did his change require a trip to A&E (we're really hoping we're wrong?!)
DeleteUrm, glasses, missing tooth or a banana for a nose? Just throwing it out there. Work with me.........
DeleteOoh I like these games too :-) Has he grown 10 inches? Has he grown a moustache?!!
DeleteHa ha! No trip to A & E (thank goodness as its a fairly common occurrence for our captain calamity!) you have earned your 5 points Louise! See you in the morning...
DeleteExciting stuff! Does your prominent position within FOF permit you to transfer "Turton Points" into house points?
DeleteHello - what is the school code for the Abacus site for their homework?

Mrs Abel. I'll text you missus.
DeletePlease pop in tomorrow to see me, I have made a change which could explain the difficulty you are having.
DeleteThanks Louise and Mrs Masterman. I'll pop in after pick up tomorrow - thank you!
