We have had another very busy week of great learning; including our final football session with Tom (10/10 scored!), making Christian symbols from clay, a very interesting and fun visit from a police officer (thank you so much Mrs Squire) and some great scientific investigation. We have had learning conferences with all the children, reflecting upon what has gone well this half term and what we can help them with. Enjoy the photos and have a very enjoyable, well earned half term break.

FAB!
This week saw the launch of Fordham's Awesome Books. They have provided great excitement in the classroom and have pride of place on our bookshelves. In Maths we have continued with addition and subtraction, including doubling (and halving for some). In English we have been reading the story 'Billy's Bucket' and the children have produced some wonderful writing related to this. We enjoyed another football session with Tom, practising passing and defending areas. Next week is our final session. In RE we have been talking about special objects that might be found in a Christian home and we also looked at Christian symbols, discussing what they represented.
All children have Bug Club books to read and Abacus Maths games on Active Learn to consolidate their learning. If you are having difficulty logging on please let me know, I am very happy to demonstrate after school.
Most children are now coming in to class independently, leaving parents at the door. For those who are not, please can I ask that you encourage your child to do so. Also I would be very grateful if parents didn't go to our fire door to wave as this upsets some children and prevents them settling quickly to their morning activity. Thank you, in advance, for your support!
Have a great weekend, see you on Monday.

Well done Class 2 for another week of working hard and great learning. In Maths the children have been working out the pairs of numbers that make 10 and then practising them. We are aiming to know them so well that we don't need to work them out or count them each time. In English the children have been using their imagination. After reading 'Not a Stick!' in which the character creates different uses for a stick, the children created their own ideas. I was very impressed with the range of ideas from broomsticks to skateboards. Some of the ideas were much better than in the book!
We had our Harvest service in church on Monday - see the Awe & Wonder blog for the photos. In PE we continued learning football skills, including defending and the class score from Tom this week was 9.5/10 - let's see if we can get 10 next week!
We also created some wonderful Autumnal trees using our fingers to paint, the children were excellent at mixing the colours to create realistic shades.
Have a restful weekend, see you Monday.
