Great effort!

The children have worked really hard this week in Maths practising and improving telling the time. In English we have been focusing on the different types of sentences and using the correct punctuation. We have been thinking about special people in RE and the children talked about who was special to them and why. In cricket we were able to play on the field as it was such a lovely day and we were learning fielding skills and the role of the backstop.
Home Learning; Year 1 have a phonics activity, Year 2 have Maths and English tasks in their CGP books. In addition to this all children have Bug Club books allocated to them.

Welcome back!

It was great to see everyone back in school  and I have enjoyed reading the children's recounts of what you've all been doing during the Easter holiday.
Our theme this half term is the books by Julia Donaldson and we started this week with her most well known - The Gruffalo. Activities have included making 'Owl Ice Cream' and 'Gruffalo Faces'. You will see from the photos that great fun was had by all.
Our P.E. this half term is cricket and dance, which is on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In Maths we have been telling the time, please help your child by practising using an analogue clock.
It has been lovely to have met with all the children and discussed their learning high points. We have talked about ways of moving their learning forward, and reviewed targets. Where appropriate new targets have been set.
A new Home Learning task has been set this week; to find out about a country they would like to visit or have been to.
